The High Cost of Sinning

I had a great time in Florida - it was so very, very nice to have my folks take care of us for a week. They were amazing hosts as always, and it was fun to spend time with my family and friends south of the border.

While I have little to add right now, I would like to point out the ridiculous price difference between American and Canadian booze.

At one point we were drinking 5 dollar pitchers. Damn!

While we were in Florida I bought a 1750mL bottle of Black Velvet rye for the equivalent of $16 - $17 Canadian. The cost of this in Ontario . . . $49.85

We even picked up two 1140mL bottles of Canadian Club rye for $25.00 total (that's under $30 bucks Canadian right now). At the LCBO right now it would cost over 30 dollars for ONE bottle.

The next time you hear about a surplus of tax dollars, remember where it came from.

Unconditional Love

Is there really a more comforting prospect than this?

Comments

Hey everyone,

Somehow my settings were set to "moderate" all incoming comments, which means they could not be posted on here until I gave approval. I don't remember making such a change. Hell, even if I did remember I'm still surprised that I recieved no notification regarding these impending comments. It turns out I had seven responses to previous entries. I have now posted all of them. Thanks goes out to all of you who took the time to respond to my posts - hopefully the problem is solved now.

Christmas Is Coming

. . . and yet, a google image search for "Black Hairy Tongue" could kill the holiday spirit of Mary and Joseph themselves. Funny how I discovered such a foul sight - a friend had "Black Hairy Tongue" listed as a possible side effect for his/her meds (amidst the usuals such as 'headaches' and 'nausea'). What the F????? I gotta say that if I'm taking something where a black hairy tongue is the potential result, I'm looking into alternative therapy. Regardless, oral hygiene is the new theme to my holiday season.
