To Celeste

I am sorry to report that my parents' cat Celeste died on Tuesday. She was truly a special cat. She was found a couple of years ago pregnant and abandoned in an empty apartment (and apparently shot in the lungs with a pellet gun) yet she was the most trusting and playful cat you could ever meet. She will of course be missed, but she at least lived her short life filled with of love.

This Old Blog Of Mine

"Neglect!"

They say to me.

"Neglect of your old blog!"

"Questions."

I can only reply.

"Questions of focus, passions and [sadly] convinience"

"But is it over?", a sad voice in my head timidly mews.

"Nay!", I defiantly roar aloud, "Nay my friend, for it is not over. It has only begun!"

And at this point the internet cafe owner turns and shushes me, and I turn back to this screen and blush.

Prejudice?

I couldn't pass up commenting on this example of the unquestioned prejudice that exists in Canadian/American culture . . .

I am truly unable to form an official opinion on Jeffrey Monaghan's guilt until I learn more of his situation. At the same time, I'm pissed that the media has focused on Monaghan's evil deeds such as being in a punk band (EVIL!) and owning a counter-culture bookshop (OOOHHHH THE HORROR OF IT ALL). Apparently "low-level" government employees are only allowed to express themselves creatively in a bland and orderly fashion.

Jeffrey Monaghan is not enduring an extreme amount of suffering (unlike, say, the West Memphis Three). Jeffrey Monaghan is obviously not a perfect human being (mostly because such a thing does not exist). Jeffrey Monaghan's creative choices did affect his professional endeavours and this sets a sad example for the rest of us.

I welcome any rebuttals.
