Reviews

I’m back on the review train, which is why there has been so little action here. With no new computer in sight, I am actually writing my reviews on a lap top while doing my research on a desktop PC. I thought my head would explode - to much time spent on the little things!!!!! At least I have some new music to offer my quick opinions on. If you want to see the full reviews, check them out in April on exclaim.ca.

(M = very bad; MMMMM = resplendently yah!)

The Band: Rammstein
The Album: Rosenrot

Not the best release to date for the popular German act, but still worth checking out.
MMM½

The Band: Headscan
The Album: Pattern Recognition
The Label: Artoffact Records
Montreal-based duo will please most fans of electro-industrial music, though there is a lot of filler here.
MMM

The Band: Evestus
The Album: Wastelands
The Label: D-trash Records
A self-proclaimed "post-apocalyptic soundtrack", Estonian-based Evestus produces an addictive experiment in what can be accomplished on your home PC.
MMM½

The Band: The Scroll
The Album: Swan Soliloquy of a Deehrelict
The Label: Akachic Records
Montreal-based The Scroll don't just touch on a variety of underground genres, they kick the shit out of them.
MMMM½

The Band: Schulz
The Album: What Apology
The Label: Sudden Death Records
Former KMFDM member Guenter Schulz, and Vancouver underground mainstay Jeff Borden unleash a world of disappointment.
M

The Band: Girls Under Glass
The Album: Equilibrium

German darkwave veterans offer decent, 80’s sounding, Goth.
